I have always been drawn to beauty both natural and manmade. Shortly after I was born my parents began to build their dream house near a small forest in the beautiful countryside of my native Hungary. I feel like interior design has been part of me my whole life. For the next six years they planned and built, and my earliest memories are of playing around the building site and in the woods nearby. I was fascinated to see how simple bricks can build walls, how pieces of wood become a staircase and how wrought iron bars can become a decorative railing. When other little girls were playing with dolls, I would layout houses with Legos or make chalk drawings on the sidewalk.

My love of art and design grew during my early adulthood as I lived and traveled around Europe, seeing many of the great achievements of Western architecture from the soaring medieval cathedrals to the future-looking Bauhaus designs that gave shape to the 20th Century.

I completed my education in Hungary at the prestigious Veresegyhazi Interior Design program and shortly afterward moved to the U.S. where I worked for a number of furniture designers and became an in-home design consultant for custom furniture, drapery and decorating for Calico Corners.

Later, I expanded into my own business of making draperies and custom bedding.

Pursuing my passion further, I completed the Interior Design Program at U.C.L.A. This included extensive training not only in the art of interior design but also in space planning, functional design, the use of building materials and computer assisted drawing and 3D rendering.

Upon graduation, I continued to work with drapery and fabric but also found myself drawn towards more ambitious remodeling and renovation projects with a design colleague in Hungary. These projects included a boutique hotel (Platan Vararok Vendeghaz in Tata), hotel-restaurants (Casablanca Hotel, Tata), lobbies and private residences.

Lately, I’ve been involved in residential renovation projects here in Los Angeles. My most recent project is the extensive redesign and renovation of a mid- century modern home, which I then staged for the client’s open house.
